It’s very important in one’s life to reflect upon his life and to review one’s life in order to see that if he/she is wasting his/her life. We don’t get many chances in life to walk on our true path but involving ourselves in various unworthy activities in our lives we tend to forget our goals and waste our precious time.
In this world of mass entertainment where our senses are focused on material enjoyment and we tend to busy our senses in those activities we drop our intelligence levels and make ourselves fall prey to those mass media entertainment goof ups, we fall into the trap of consumerism, fashion, entertainment and others divulge our senses in these mindless time-wasting activities. We turn into passive beings and without experiencing the life to its fullest.
Below are the 5 signs that you may be wasting your lives, along with helpful tips to live your lives in a better way.
Too Much TV
Yup, you read it right, a clear sign that you are wasting your life is that you spend hours every day in front of a TV screen, filling our minds with huge piles of trash of this mass media entertainment. A place where women are generally objectified and also exposes your mind to infinite lies. According to a recent study published by Nielsen, Americans on average spend over 30 hours a week watching TV. That’s over 4 hours a day. Maybe, that time could be spent where you could do some constructive work or spend that time with family or friends, socialize with people or just look up to your health. If you desire to stop living passively and start spending your time wisely, a first good step you can take is to throw your TV set straight into your rubbish bin!
Thinking too much and escaping to a fantasy world in your mind
We often find ourselves escaping to parallel dimension, kind of a fantasy world which we have built in our minds, while we are sitting idle and thinking of things which are most probably impossible to happen in practical life and waste our time on that. We should rather live our own dreams and start working upon that in a practical sense so that we would make our dreams come true, rather than fantasizing in a broad daylight.
You live on the terms of other people
People come and go in our lives and many of them give us pieces of advice and tell us how to live our lives and tell us not to do mistakes, but unless we don’t do mistakes how could we gain experience and learn from those experiences and become successful. We fear to take even calculated risks in our lives and start living on the terms of other people and make ourselves a kind of a slave to their will, we should make our decisions based on our mistakes and experiences and learn and grow from those life lessons.
You don’t love your work
We do go to our daily jobs and do things out of responsibility but many times even if we hate our jobs or our work we still go on and on and most of the people work almost all of their lives before realizing that it’s too late, that they never gave themselves a chance to show their creativity or talent. If you are sick of this living, you should at once get out of those clutches and do the kind of work which you enjoy even if it pays you less, but you will be happy before it’s too late.
Always thinking about the past or the future
Human mind is made in a way such that we are entangled in our past either in our future, we will be most of the times be regretful of our past or be worrisome about our future, due to which we are unable to focus on our present. We should learn from our bitter yesterdays in order to lighten our future and live our today to fullest without having our mind dangling in past or future. As there is wonderful saying
Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called as a present.
So we should take our lives as a present and live it that way.
